The last weekend of October 2026, we have the honor of welcoming Hiroaki Kobayashi, Aikido Kobayashi Dojo-cho, to Eksjö for the very first time. The training will start Thursday October 29 in our small dojo, and have its main classes from Friday to Sunday 30/10–1/11 in a larger venue downstairs.
It will be a fantastic opportunity for everyone regardless of level or style to get together and practice, in the cosy small town of Eksjö.
Kobayashi Dojo no Nakama
Aikido Kobayashi Dojo is one of very few remaining places of training for one of O-senseis long time directs students, Yasuo Kobayashi. Today the organization is led by dojo-cho Hiroaki Kobayashi, and beside the many dojos in Japan there are also a big number of directly affiliated international groups and dojos. Three of them are in Sweden.
Regardless of what style you practice, Kobayashi Dojo is an opportunity to come close to the roots of aikido which is unique. As a symbol of this, Kobayashi-sensei has made the Kobayashi Dojo no Nakama – friends of Kobayashi Dojo – a beautiful calligraphy which will be a part of our event materials, reminding us of our joyful training together.

We will practice in the dojo of Eksjö Budoklubb on Thursday evening (limited space) and in the large training hall below from Friday to Sunday.

Other
Bring bokken, jo and preferably a tanto. There are some weapons to borrow, first and foremost for our guests travelling from afar.

Accomodation:
There will be the possibility for accomodation it four separate class rooms in a nearby school, with access to toilets. A separate eating area with fridge will be open during breakfast. Bring sleeping bag and a soft sleeping mat. At least 30-40 spots will be available.
